Objectives

 

On completion of this course, you will be able to:

  2. explain the origins of Lean;
  3. identify key challenges associated with municipal organizations;
  4. outline the main steps involved in any Lean municipal implementation;
  5. define and distinguish between the five Lean principles;
  6. define value;
  7. differentiate between the value levels that exist within an organization;
  8. identify and distinguish between the phases in the value creation framework;
  9. define what waste is;
  10. identify the eight types of waste and provide correct examples for each from the municipal sector; and
  11. identify and describe the key Lean concepts.
